Rekindle The Spark

“And when all that was left was ashes,

she would again clothe herself in flame.

Rising from the dust of her past

to rekindle the spark of her future.

She was a Phoenix,

her own salvation; rebirthed, renewed, resurrected.”

— LaRhonda Toreson

Remevolution searches for the spark and ignites the Phoenix within us to soar! Remembering who we are is the key to all of Remevolution. Small insights breathe life into our resurrection. Taking the time to recall and process our past helps us to evolve!

Are you feeling the desire to rekindle your spark? To remember who you are? The Evolution of Remembering Me is here.

You may begin by writing as for me, that is a medium for clarity. Writing helps me in many ways. Perhaps you can take a memory of a good feeling from your younger days, when you were happy, when you felt good about something that happened or something you did. Put it to paper. Write about it as if you are the observer. Then write about it as it is unfolding, from your soul’s perspective. Can you see how that pivotal moment of feel good raises your vibration? It makes you remember who you are?

Now take that moment in time and expand on it. Put it into today. How can we continue that feeling in real time? Even if you can’t find a way to re-invent that memory, you can write about it, imagining the feeling of authenticity in the present moment.

This is a writing that you may share with me or trusted friends. Or you can keep it to yourself in a journal. Who you are never changes. We simply forget at times our divinity. Stressors and life struggles burden our essence. We need to clear the clutter and remember the heart of who we are.

You can do this. You need to do this so that the inner strength we have can expand and connect with one another. There is so much turmoil swirling in the world these days. Igniting the fire within you, the strength and passion which carries us is even more essential.

Let me know how the exercise works for you! I can’t wait to read about it!

Remevolution – The Evolution of Remembering Me

What Is Intuition to Me?

Intuition is like this:

I know something, but I don’t know how I know it. But I know that I know it. And I can’t explain how it is that I know it. Nor can I tell you if it’s a voice that tells me or that it’s a feeling that comes over me. But I will say that when I write/speak the knowing because I know deep down that I have a message for someone, I get goosebumps up and down my body as a confirmation of truth. Or at least that’s how I perceive it.

I find that when I speak what I know without couching the message to taste more palatable to someone else, it delivers its message with uncanny accuracy. But sometimes I admit, I do speak the message in subtler form in order for the other person to be able to process what it is that I am delivering. And I know when I am to do that or better said, when it’s ok to do it.

Perhaps this makes no sense to you or perhaps you understand completely. I know I am not alone in this situation and I would love to hear from those of you who have had similar experiences. Whether you’ve been the conduit or the receiver, please share below.

Remevolution – The Evolution of Remembering Me

Let’s Introduce Ourselves

I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious. – Albert Einstein

How would you describe yourself? I love the quote above because it speaks to me because I am such a curious person. Not intrusive, but curious. I love to hear your stories and your experiences. I find that bonding with people over similar or dissimilar experiences opens up avenues of understanding and connection. But then again, my personality is very open so if I think that something that happened to me may help you in your journey, I’d tell you if you seemed interested. And if not, then I’d stay quiet so as to not be obtrusive.

If we met at a casual party, tell me what I’d notice about you?

What would you want me to know about you?

Would you reveal any secrets to me since I’m a stranger that you may not ever meet again?

I find that answering questions honestly and with what first comes to mind is the easiest way to getting to the heart of the matter. When you hem and haw over an answer, you’re allowing your mind to discern and to judge your answers in order to be perceived as x,y,z which may or may not be the authentic you.

What would you notice about me? I’m an open book and embraceable. I have no poker face ability so everything shows on me. You can read me like a book which has been a gift and a difficulty over my lifetime, but I wouldn’t change it. I find that it puts people at ease more often than not and that’s good.

What would I want you to know about me? I’d want you to know that I’m caring and that I’m a people connector.

Secrets? Well yes I have a few and if it felt right, then maybe I’d share some with you. It would depend on the atmosphere and our conversation. I’ve experienced soul baring revelations of secrets both to me and from me at times. I am all about the healing process. I find being vulnerable a strength and not a weakness. I’ve been blessed that usually when secret exchanges occur, they’ve been with trustworthy people.

So tell me about you? Don’t be shy. We’re all in this life together!

A Writing Exercise For The Weekend

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

– Maya Angelou

I’ve found writing to be an intricate part of healing and Remevolution. Taking the bits and pieces from my past and putting them to paper has allowed me the space to find closure, whether that meant forgiveness, understanding or even enlightenment.

My suggestion over the weekend is for you to put pen to paper and write what comes to the surface. Free write if that pleases you or take one of the prompts below and expand on it. You may even find it surprising what flows through you.

I really wish people knew this about me…

My idea day would be spent…

I can never forget this moment (or these moments) in my life because…

(what happened, how did it make you feel, how do you feel now about the moments?)

I love to…

I dislike…

Dear (insert name here), I really want to tell you…

I want to be released from…

I want more of (insert your choice) in my life…

This is how I see my life…

This is how I thought my life would be now…

You may type or handwrite your responses. Either way works because nobody is grading this, nor looking at it, but you. It is simply healing time for you to explore your thoughts, your feelings, yourself.

The Evolution of Remembering Me (You!) has begun. Exploration can be the key to opening what inspires you. Take some time for yourself over the weekend and allow your inner knowledge to unfold.

Find Your David

“The sculpture is already complete within the marble block, before I start my work. It is already there, I just have to chisel away the superfluous material.” – Michaelangelo Buonarroti

It has been written that Michelangelo’s feat of chiseling David, a 17 foot statue from a single whole piece of marble was no small matter. His ability to chip away all the extraneous to expose the divine excellence within is much like Remevolution.

For the Evolution of Remembering Me (You!) is a careful sculpting to remove all that weighs down your divinity and allows you to be revealed in all of your transcendental beauty. It is an evolution of remembering who you are, what you like, what brings you joy and healing. It is tapping into your soul structure and extracting those pieces of you which may remain hidden. It is bringing YOU to life again – physically, mentally, emotionally – and reuniting who you once were with who you are now. A melding of your innate being with your experiences in a way that transforms your presence with healing self-love.

In researching David, I read that Michelangelo began David after the marble was abandoned by a previous sculptor named Donatello who deemed it flawed. I like that fact because I think…

All we need is one person to see the beauty within us in order to expose it to the light and that person is you!

We are a sum of all that we have endured in this precious life and that sum makes us who we are. When we shine the light within, we are truly ourselves.

The human experience is fraught with tough moments, but also full of precious ones. Remembering who we are – perfect, whole and complete – is the key to Remevolution.

Buddha

We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think.

When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves. – Buddha

When it comes to Remevolution, the mind is a powerful tool to help you. The Evolution of Remembering Me (and you!) necessitates going deeply into our beliefs, our thoughts and seeing clearly. It helps when we can share our thoughts with others who are able to observe with empathy and even detachment to parse the truth from the story we’ve chosen to weave as our own.

Facts are what center on truth, but they can get muddled by our own views of life. We can make excuses for how or why situations occurred in our lives. We can find that it’s hard to face choices we’ve made so we eschew the facts to fit into what feels comfortable. Therefore we need to harness the truth so that we can be centered with integrity, compassion and be motivated to clear our thoughts in order to remember who we are innately. In addition, we need a healthy dose of self-love in order to accomplish it.

It is an evolution, one that is done with patience. We may find that we have instantaneous moments of revelation that burst forth in a radiance of clarity and those are precious moments to honor. Those a-ha moments are a springboard for evolution, but the work to remember who we are, to explore what we truly want from this life and to engage in seeking the depths of our innate self is usually like an archeological dig. One artifact at a time emerges to fit into the story of who we are, how we’ve arrived to the present situation and how we imagine the possibilities of the future.

One must find the observer mode in order to purify the thoughts that no longer serve you. I have found that writing is a way for me to see more clearly how my thoughts and beliefs and the events in my life have formed the present self. Free writing allows emotions, beliefs and our true feelings to emerge. Once you are able to express this, when you read it back, it is as if you are a listener (observer) and may find points where you question your thinking. You may see more clearly what you want to continue and what you don’t. You may notice what is here for you and find one of those precious a-ha moments that emphasizes joy in your life.

It is time to remember who you are and to harness your thoughts so that you may roll out the red carpet in 2020 and step into all that you are – without shame nor excuses, without sadness nor regret, without people pleasing nor taking it to the other extreme.

It’s about you being comfortable being the YOU that you are destined to be in all of your glory.

Have A Joyful Saturday

Spirituality is the sacred center out of which all life comes, including Mondays and Tuesdays and rainy Saturday afternoons in all their mundane and glorious detail. – Christina Baldwin

It’s a rainy Saturday here and it’s just the way I love it! I find the peace inviting to soulful awareness when it’s a day I can stay home and allow the day to unfold. If I have too much scheduled for a Saturday, then Sundays are my appointed day for renewal.

I don’t know about you, but I need that downtime after a busy week. I need a chance to just be, to ground myself and to center my breath and being. I make part of the weekend dedicated to me when I can. Whether I have get up early before anyone else in the family or stay up later, I carve out me time.

My normal workweek routine doesn’t change and I rely on what has been working for me for a long time. But on the weekends, I expand it, even if I still need to get up early in order to have my alone time, it’s worth it. Yet, I try to sleep in one morning if I can during the weekend because I feel that it’s like a mini vacation to sleep a little later once a week (or twice if I can manage it!)

I give thanks, whether by writing in a gratitude journal or simply saying it daily. I recommend the journal so that you can look back and appreciate the goodness when you need a little pick me up on a dark day. Sometimes I do it in the morning routine if I was too sleepy to do it before bedtime.

Before I leave the bed (if I’m not running late), I quiet my mind and allow whatever is to come to me come. Sometimes I awake with a song in my head as a message for the day. Sometimes there’s only peace and quiet until the Parent voice in my head tells me to get up and get moving which isn’t a good way to start the day. I usually quiet that voice by stretching and getting up.

With my morning coffee, I say a quiet prayer for the day ahead. A prayer to God, the Universe, my higher self, my angels with the request to pave the way ahead for me for my highest good.

I pull a card from one of my decks as well every morning and use that message as the one for the day. Sometimes if I need more detail, I will pull a second card as well. I keep track of them by saving or emailing myself the message for the day.

If I’ve heard lyrics or a song in my head that morning, I will google it and listen quietly sipping my coffee. Usually there’s a small message in it for me. Most of the time I know the song or at least the lyrics, but sometimes I only have the phrase running through my head and have to investigate.

I try to stand outside every morning even for only a few minutes just to look at the sky, feel the air around me, and notice nature. It’s surprising how many people don’t notice the sky everyday. But I understand why because I went blindly through my days for a long time, too rushed to take the brief moment to acknowledge the sun, the raindrops, the smell of the air change during rain or snow, the snowflakes, and the night sky full of stars and the moon in her every phase. But nature is important and noticing the little nuances expands our communion with our world.

What does your morning or evening routine include? If you don’t have a set one, how would you like to begin or end your day? Feel free to be flexible with your routine, but remember to try every day and don’t beat yourself up if you skip or miss a day.

Closing Time Is A Rebirth

Closing time…every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. – Semisonic

Closing time
Time for you to go out into the world…Closing time
Time for you to go back to the places you will be from.
Closing time…Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.
– lyrics by Semisonic 1998.

We can’t look at 2020 as a new beginning until we look at the other beginning’s end. I woke up with this song in my head this morning. Do you know it? It’s an oldie, but I like it.

Closing time…every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.

Dan Wilson of Semisonic explains the double meaning of the song. “Some bouncers yelling things, closing time coming, all that imagery, literally, that’s how the song started and then when I was halfway done, I started realizing the whole thing was a pun about being born, so I just made sure that the rest of the thing could ride with that double meaning, but nobody got the joke and I didn’t bother to explain. I thought everyone would get it.”

“It’s all about being born and coming into the world, seeing the bright lights, cutting the cord, opening up into something deeper and more universal,” Wilson told Mojo.

I’m not great with endings. I don’t think there’s many endings in my life that aren’t covered in claw marks from me not wanting to let go of whatever it was – relationships, homes, jobs and even vacation time. I’m not good with goodbyes and maybe that’s just me. I’m not even really good with them when there’s something wonderful on the horizon. But saying goodbye to 2019 wasn’t hard for me because I’ve been evolving over time.

What is evolving? The Evolution of Remembering Me or Remevolution as I’m calling this, sounds like a fancy phrase, but there is a lot behind it. It’s a journey, just like the life journey we’re on. It’s a way in which we can see from the observer point of view in 20/20 (and 2020!) hindsight that clears out the misunderstandings, the red flags, the shame, the burdens and the toxic beliefs that we’ve been holding onto in order to make room for our growth into who we authentically are without carrying the heaviness that’s been weighing us down over time.

It’s a clearing in order to begin with a fresh start where we’re centered, grounded and we know that we are only responsible for ourselves. When we’re living with gratitude and we are honoring ourselves and others to be who we all are, then there’s a peace that comes along with it. Believe me, we all have this capability, but sometimes we just need a friend to guide us and to lend a listening ear as we process.

From a young age, I was a listening ear. People would tell me what was going on and I was able to understand from the observer point of view. I could see the heart of the situation even when it was clouded in a smoke screen. I’ve cultivated that strength into a sort of channeling now as I’ve grown older and wiser and more open to my gifts which has helped me immensely.

I want to help you to clear out the past in a kind way in order to find peace in the present and hope for the future. We can do this together. It’s Closing Time. Let’s put our heads on the pillow and be at peace so that we can wake up in 2020 with light, love and pure intention to have our best year yet!
